Meet the tallest doorman in all of London!
Originally opened by a Mr Robert Fleming in 1851, this is a series of six Georgian townhouses with now interconnecting floors, nooks and crannies, to open it up in to one hotel. It’s a bit of a maze finding some rooms and the hallways are narrow, but this hotel is quite possibly in one of the best locations in London.
A beautiful autumn day in Green Park
Walk to the end of Half Moon Street one way and you can cross the road to walk through Green Park to the gates of Buckingham Palace about 500m away. Go the other way and you’ll be in Berkley Square looking for nightingales to serenade you. Or hang a left at the end of the street and lose yourself in the Harry Potter-esque streets of Shepherd Market with its quaint pubs and little shops.
Shop your way down Bond Street back to the hotel in time for happy hour
Just 2 minutes walk from Green Park Tube, or 10 minutes walk to Piccadilly Circus – or duck and weave down Bond Street, you’ll hardly need hail a cab or disappear into the underground maze of public transport as everything is right here.
But it’s not just wealthy bankers and loaded tourists who stay here, the hotel does a fine job catering for families with the very cute Fleming Frog who pops up on a book given to children, along with slippers and a bathrobe, frog shampoo and a special children’s menu with little froggy touches.

Each of the 129 rooms and suites are individually designed and very large, especially for London standards. There is a drawing room with funky velvet covered furniture in front of the fire and a wall designed as a book case – as well as a faux bookcase in the lift. Probably the most interesting lift I’ve ever been in and certainly gives you something to stare at when others step in.
