Woohooo – Blogger at Large has 2 tickets from Great Sights to give away for a sightseeing day trip from Auckland to Waitomo Caves (and back)!
I am ashamed to say that I have never been to Waitomo Caves. Appalling I know and my head is hanging as I type.
I once read a black water rafting story by Amelia Norman about her experience in these caves and it sounded so terrifying, falling backwards into the darkness, that I have decided when I do finally frequent the underground city of thousands of glowing worms, I shall stick to the nana route and paddle with full vision. (Read her story here on Four Corners).
So I promise I won’t enter my own competition. This is for you and your mates a chance to WIN 2 tickets for a full day tour valued at $398.
You’ll set off from Auckland from SkyCity bus depot at 7.30am and travel by coach via Rangiriri – historic Maori Land Wars Battle Site, Ngaruawahia – home of the Maori King, Waikato River – New Zealand’s longest river and arrive at Waitomo Glowworm Caves. Morning tea is provided and you can buy a picnic lunch for $30 if you wish.
So how do I enter?!, I hear you shout.
All you have to do is tell us (below) in 20 words or less why you ABSOLUTELY SHOULD WIN. Be creative, have fun and good luck!
The winner will be chosen on most unique reason by Great Sights staff (so you can’t blame me).

Competition closes Sunday 8 August and must be used within 6 months.
