I love Chatuchak and have been there many times. My pick though is to go after lunch. Everyone rushes there first thing and in the heat of the day and it can get so crowded and hot that you are tempted to give up and go to the airconditioning somewhere. If you arrive later the crowds will be starting to disperse and the temp normally drops a little too, it makes for a much happier shopping spree. Also, while it is marketed as a weekend market there are a lot of stalls that will be open every other day of the week. It might not give you the best bargaining power but if you're not going to be there for the weekend and really want to see it it can be worth venturing to....of course there are so many other places to go there may be no need.
