Michael Meredith has still got lips talking and mouths watering as his highly acclaimed restaurant – Merediths – took out top spot in the prestigious Metro Magazine Restaurant of the Year award for Auckland. It also won Best Formal Restaurant in Auckland. Metro judges spent 3 months visiting and revisiting restaurants in the city to make their decision and after years of the French Cafe sitting as King of the Castle, Meredith gets his day in the sun.
Ewan MacDonald at the NZ Herald gave it 5 out of 5: “If you want to be entranced, stimulated, challenged, this is a restaurant that is about food, cooking, possibilities rather than inevitabilities. I want to eat anything from this man’s kitchen.”
